The Kansas tourism industry has something new to promote . . . Nowhere.

Researchers with Oxford University have discovered that Nowhere is a lot closer than we thought. And you may (or may not) be surprised to know that Western Kansas is the king of Nowhere.

Based on thorough research and analysis, four of the top 10 remote towns in the United States with less than 5,000 people are Oakley (No. 4), Scott City (No. 7), Holcomb (No. 8) and Lakin (No. 10).
