The Allen Community College women’s soccer team was eliminated from postseason play Saturday after losing 4-1 to Johnson County Community College in the first round of the playoff bracket.
The Lady Red Devils finish the year with a 9-10 overall record and a 5-6 mark in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Allen entered the postseason as the No. 7 seed in the Region VI tournament, which featured a field of eight teams from the conference.
With the victory on Saturday, Johnson County, which was the tournament’s No. 2 seed, prevented Allen from reaching the league’s semifinal against No. 3 seed Hutchinson.
Allen will lose six members from its roster due to graduation.
Although the squad should return its 11 freshman players, coach Jeremy McGinnis will have to replace the majority of his offense, which was mainly provided by sophomores like Rachel Nincehelser and Madison Evans throughout this past season.
