The Red Devil men and women both fell at home to Butler Wednesday night.
The men fought nearly the whole game long but fell short late, losing 88-78 while the women were overwhelmed by a stellar first-half display by the 20th-ranked Lady Grizzlies and lost 79-43.
The Lady Devils fall to 3-15 overall and 1-7 in conference play while the men move down 12-5 and an even 5-5 in KJCCC play so far this season.

THE ALLEN  women had about as bad of a start as you could have.
The Lady Grizzlies opened on an 11-2 tear and refused to let up, pushing that lead to 29-7 after a quarter and all of the way to 43-11 by halftime.
But credit is due to Lady Devil coaches and players because despite the game being mostly out of reach by that point, Allen seemed to find their fight and resolve in the second half.
After being outscored by 32 in the first half, the Lady Devils fought Butler to within four, 32-36, to at least restore some dignity from the first half punishment.
Freshman Ariel Walker continues to be a bright spot for this team so far this season, leading all scorers with 19 points followed by 10 for sophomore ChrisAlee Patterson and five for freshman Gabby Guzman.

AFTER A hard-fought three-fourths of a game, the Allen men looked to be in good position to grab their second straight win Wednesday night. The game went back-and-forth throughout most of the second half but midway through, Allen went on a run led by a four-point play from freshman Trez Hankins which gave the Red Devils a six-point lead with seven minutes to play.
Unfortunately, that lead would not grow as the Red Devils scored just 11 more points before the end of the game.
Butler’s Juwan White was huge for the Grizzlies, especially late, and led the comeback effort, taking advantage of multiple Red Devil turnovers to take the lead and stretch it to double digits. White ended the game with 28 points.
Hankins led all Allen scorers with 19 including 5-7 shooting and 3-5 shooting from three.
Sophomore Wesley Anderson Jr. had 17 followed by 14 for freshman Malik Hardmon who also had seven rebounds. Sophomore Perry Carroll had 12 points and four assists.
If the weather holds up this weekend, the Allen men and women will head south to face a Coffeyville team whose women have struggled this season while the men are tops in the conference and ranked 5th in the country. The women tip at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m.
