ARMA — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Makayla Brooks capped off her track and field season in record-breaking style Tuesday.

The Wildcat eighth-grader brought home four league championships, including a new Three Rivers League middle school record in the long jump. Meanwhile, Shelby Yoho was a two-time league champion, including a TRL record mark in the 3200-meter run.

Yoho and Brooks sparked the Marmaton Valley eighth-grade girls to the team championship.

On the boys’ side, Marmaton Valley’s Justice Pugh was a two-time league champ, winning both the 1600 and 3200 meters.

They were hardly the only ones to shine.
