Crest, Marmaton Valley, Yates Center and Southern Coffey County all traveled to Uniontown on Saturday to compete in their volleyball invitational.
The Lady Lancers finished second behind Riverton with a 3-2 overall record. Yates Center finished 3-1, coming in third place in their pool due to tie-breakers. Marmaton Valley went 1-3 in pool play and Southern Coffey County ended up with a 4-1 record.
Crest opened things with a 25-17, 25-21 sweep over Uniontown. They then were swept by Yates Center 14-25 and 18-25 before beating Galena 25-20 and 25-10. They swept Altoona-Midway 25-10 and 25-7 to close out pool play before losing to Riverton in three sets in the finals 13-25, 25-21 and 10-25.
Cassie Bowen had 30 kills on the day and Camryn Strickler had 23.
Yates Center opened things up a with a three-set 20-25, 25-22, 25-14 win over Galena and went on to sweep Crest 25-14 and 25-19, before falling to Uniontown 26-24 and 25-20.
Yates Center ended with a sweep of Altoona-Midway 25-6 and 25-3.
Marmaton Valley started off the day by getting swept by Southern Coffey County 25-20, 25-20. They rebounded and swept Central Heights 25-20, 25-20 before falling to eventual champion Riverton 25-18, 25-18.
The Wildcats ended the day with a three-set loss versus Northeast-Arma 25-22, 19-25, 25-10.
Patricia Outlan led Marmaton Valley with 40 kills followed by Bailey Griffith who had 21. Karlie Stephens had 24 points.
Southern Coffey County started things off with a 25-17 and 25-13 sweep of Northeast Arma before sweeping Marmaton Valley 25-20, 25-20.
The Lady Titans swept Uniontown 25-18, 25-16 before getting a 25-11, 25-4 two-set win over Central Heights.
SCC ended its day by getting swept by Riverton 25-16, 25-21.
Crest and Marmaton Valley will travel to Southeast-Cherokee today to wrap up their regular season. Southern Coffey County will travel to Hartford today before competing in the Lyon County League tournament on Saturday in Emporia. Yates Center will travel to Pleasanton today to end its regular season.
Crest, Marmaton Valley and Southern Coffey County will all compete in the 1A regional tournament in Moran next Tuesday while Yates Center will travel back to Uniontown a week from Saturday for the 2A sub-state tournament.
