Cub athletes compete

RICHMOND — Humboldt High’s track athletes opened the 2011 season Friday at the Central Heights High Invitational.
Tanner McNutt won the 400-meter dash in 52.1 seconds. Teammate Nick Keazer was fifth in 56.6 seconds.
Hayden Boring placed fourth in the long jump for the Humboldt boys. Boring went 17 feet, 10 inches. McNutt was sixth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5’4”.
For the Lady Cubs, Whiney Strack was sixth in the 300-meter low hurdles in 59.2 seconds.
Strack combined with Michaela Bartlett, Kristin Todd and Raquel Hill for fifth in the 4×800-meter relay race. The Humboldt foursome had a time of 13 minutes, 58 seconds.
Humboldt goes to Eureka on Thursday.
