Both Humboldt teams had strong showings for senior night on Monday when the Cubs hosted Neodesha.
The Cub boys won 62-40 while the girls won 56-22. Both teams improve to 10-7 this season.
The boys, led by junior Conor Havilands 25 and 11 double-double, led by just four after the first quarter before ripping off a 20-2 second quarter to jump ahead by 22 at half.
After that, the Bluestreaks managed to keep the Cubs in check but they in no way were able to overcome that blistering second quarter.
In addition to Haviland, senior Bo Bigelow added nine followed by eight each for senior Tucker Hurst and junior Isiah Coronado, four for senior Caleb Coronado, three for senior Xavier Bauer, two for senior Kyler Allen and a point for senior Ryan Sellman.
The Lady Cubs, meanwhile, got off to a strong 15-4 start before taking a nine-point lead into the half. A 13-2 third quarter sealed the deal for Humboldt.
All of the seniors rose to the top in the Lady Cubs win led by Aricah McCall who had 21 points and seven rebounds and Maggie Johnson who had 14 points and eight rebounds. Kaylie Johnson had nine points and Morgan Mauk had seven.
Both teams will travel to Cherryvale today for their final game of the regular season.
