EMPORIA — Humboldt’s special volleyball season came to an end on Friday, but if it had to end, the state tournament in Emporia was the place coach Terry Meadows’ team wanted it to happen.
“The girls came into this season ready to work and they knew if we could put it all together, we could get here,” Meadows said. “And that is what we did.”
The Cubs went 0-3 in pool-play against what ended up being the state champion, the state runner-up and the No. 1 team in the state entering the tournament.
