Two of the area’s biggest stars will go from wearing the same colors this season to becoming rivals next year.
Humboldt’s Rayce Hoepker has ended his long recruitment and will stay local to attend Allen Community College next season. Hoepker was a first team all-state selection this season by both the Topeka Capital-Journal and the Wichita Eagle after scoring 27.5 points per game and leading the Cubs to a No. 1 ranking in the state.
Hoepker’s friend and classmate Makaylah McCall will be joining Neosho County Community College next season to add a little spice to the area rivalry for Cub fans.
McCall averaged a double-double this season with 13.5 points and 11.1 rebounds.
They will celebrate their choices with a joint ceremony on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
