Eagle girls lose to Jayhawks

MOUND CITY — Uniontown High’s Eagle softball team dropped a non-league doubleheader Friday.
The Eagles lost to host Jayhawk-Linn 11-10 in 12 innings and 12-2.
Uniontown is 12-4 overall. The Eagles host Humboldt Thursday.
The Eagles came from behind twice in the first game. They got two runs in the seventh to force the game into extra innings, tied at 10-10.
Jayhawk-Linn High’s Jayhawks produced the game-winner in the bottom of the 12th.
Tayler Shook pitched six innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits and 16 walks plus hit two batters and struck out four. Taylor Wade took the loss, pitching six innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk. She struck out one.
Shook led the offense with a triple, a double and a single while Hope Jurgensen had two doubles and a single. Britney Stokes had three singles.
Tiffany Poyner and Torrie Hathaway each had a double and a single. Wade hit two singles. Jessie Camac doubled and Lakyn Coyan singled.
Wade took the pitching loss in the second game. She was charged with 12 runs on nine hits and nine walks with two strikeouts.
Camac had a double. Hitting a single each were Poyner, Jurgensen, Regan Weyant, Hathaway, Wade and Coyan.
