FREDONIA — Uniontown High’s Eagles and Yates Center High’s Wildcats played in the Fredonia Invitational golf tournament Thursday.
Battling a strong south wind, the Eagles shot a 257 for sixth and the Wildcats finished seventh at 266. Caney Valley won the girls’ tournemnt title with 185 points.
Yates Center’s Emily Baker tied for 11th with a 52. Margie Hartwig shot a 64 and Becky Wendland had a 70.
Also for the Wildcats, Sami Hatch had an 80 and McKenna Furst carded an 81.
Uniontown was led by Sabrena McAnulty with a 60 and Emily Simpson at 63.
Raven Lamb shot a 65. Veronica Harrison had a 69 and Danika Herring shot a 70.
On Monday, the teams played in the Parsons Invitational and Uniontown combined for a 251 for eighth. Yates Center was 10th with a 265.
Harrison paaced the Eagles with a 59 followed by Simpson with a 60. Lamb shot a 65, McAunlty had a 67 and Herring logged an 82.
Yates Center’s Baker shot a 53. Hartwig came in at 65 followed by Wendland at 66, Furst at 81 and Hatch at 90.
Eagles win JV meet
On Sept. 17, Uniontown won the Girard High JV tournament with a team score of 265.
Harrison won the nine-hole event with a 56 and Simpson was third at 61. Herring placed 11th at 73 and Lamb shot a 75 for 12th.
