UNIONTOWN – — Uniontown High’s Eagles made it a great fall homecoming for the UHS fans Friday night.
The Eagles outlasted the McAuley Cathloic High Warriors 41-34. Uniontown was ahead 22-20 at halftime against the vistors from Joplin, Mo.
The Eagles got a touchdown in the third quarter to stretch their lead. In the fourth quarter, both teams scored two touchdowns.
Zach Travis rushed for 97 yareds and three touchdowns. He also threw a touchdown pass to Seth Sympson, who had 57 yards in receptions.
Jordan Woods had a touchdown and 73 yards rushing. Trenton Miller scored a rushing touchdown.
Uniontown amassed 255 yards on the ground. McAuley used the air waves — 16 of 28 for 225 yards.
Uniontown evened its overall record to 2-2. The Eagles are at home again next Friday, facing Northeast High of Arma in Three Rivers League play.
