First win eludes Lady Lancers

BUFFALO — Scoring just one point in the first half put Crest High’s Lady Lancer in a deep hole Friday night.
Their hosts, the Altoona-Midway High Jets zoomed to a 16-1 halftime lead. The Lady Lancers scored 19 points in the second half but it wasn’t enough as they lost 35-20.
Crest remains winless for the season at 0-8. The Lady Lancers compete in next week’s Pleasanton High Blu-Jay Mid-Season Tournament in Pleasanton.
The Lady Lancers play Central Heights at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round.
Against Altoona-Midway. Kurston Gilliland scored eight points for Crest. Ashley Catt had six.
Scoring two points each were Katrina Strickler, Erica Holman and Kolbie Gilliland.
Kelsy Spears tossed in 11 points for the Jets. Clara Reaves had nine and Nichole LaCrone had seven.
