FORT SCOTT — The Iola Middle School seventh-grade Mustangs suffered their second loss thanks to a late Fort Scott Tigers’ rally.
Leading 12-0 with 4 minutes left, the Tigers scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-12 lead and drop the Mustangs’ record to 0-2.
“From where we were last week, we definitely made some positive steps,” Iola coach Scott Ellis said. “We stubbed our toe on a few plays, but all we can do is learn from it. That’s what I told the kids. Let’s learn from it and prepare for the next game.”
