PARSONS — Iola High’s freshmen beat Coffeyville 25-19, 25-12 for seventh-place in Saturday’s Parsons High Freshman Invitational volleyball tournament.
The Fillies lost 25-17, 25-7 to Labette County, lost 25-13, 25-11 to Parsons and lost 25-15, 25-8 to Pittsburg.
“In four short weeks these girls have improved and now understand the pace that high school volleyball asks for,” said Jeff Fehr, Iola High assistant coach.
Fehr said the leading servers for Iola on the day were Mackenzie Weseloh, Allie Cleaver, Sydni Haen. Alexis Hobbs and Halie Cleaver led the team in kills while Karlie Lower and Weseloh led it in assists.
