PITTSBURG — Iola’s Special Olympics team members were at the Pittsburg YMCA Tuesday for a basketball skills showcase event.
The local athletes fared well, with several top finishes.
Individual results:
Kobear Smith: second place individual skills and second place speed dribble. 
Jacob Carton: third place individual skills and third place speed drill.
Kason Botts: first place individual skills and third place speed dribble.
Enzy Mynat: first place individual skills and first place speed dribble.
Nick Stogsdill: second place individual skills and second place speed dribble.
Aiden Fraker: second place individual skills and second place speed dribble.
Xavior Burrow: first place individual skills and second place speed dribble.
Keegon Herman: third place individual skills and first place speed dribble. 
Jaden Smith: second place individual skills and first place speed dribble.
Gavin Doolittle: second place individual skills and second place speed dribble.

A busy spring sports season lies ahead for the Special Olympians as well, with competitions scheduled for April 19 in Pittsburg and May 6 in Erie.
