The Iola Soccer Club, entering its second season as part of the Paola Soccer Club League, has a new name and new team colors.
The ISC Ambush will sport lime green and black colors, said Brek Ulrich, who is helping organize the local soccer effort.
“We’re going in a whole new direction,” Ulrich said.
Last year, the squad was known as Iola Blue and Gold.
The Ambush will sport four teams: 8-, 10-, 12- and 14-and-under teams.
Ulrich has scheduled registration periods the week of Aug. 4-7 at the Allen Community College practice fields.
Registration for the 12- and 14-and-under teams runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4-5, while sign-up for the 8- and 10-and-under teams is from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6-7.
Registration fees of $85 cover uniform and league entry costs, Ulrich said.
Participants are asked to bring water, cleats and shin guards to registration.
Games in the Paola Soccer Club League are on Saturdays beginning Sept. 13.
Ulrich said a fundraiser also will be scheduled to pay for a year-end tournament.
