RICHMOND — The Crest High School Lady Lancers won the Three Rivers League title by more than 11 points Thursday in Richmond.
After staying under the radar for a majority of the season, the Lady Lancers made a statement.
Seniors Peyton Schmidt and Josie Walter finished second and third respectively while senior Aubrey Allen took fifth and sophomore Kellei Robb took 10th.
Schmidt was just 29 seconds behind eventual Pioneer League champion Ebony Huges, a sophomore out of Central Heights. Schmidt cleared the course in 21:48, followed by Walter with a 22:02 finish.
Allen was only 41 seconds off Walter’s pace while becoming Crest’s third All-Three Rivers League runner. Robb became the fourth
with Crest’s a top 10 finish in 23:17.
Marmaton Valley senior Sophia Heim took 22nd with a time of 26:16.
For the men, Marmaton Valley freshman Brayden Endicott took 10th after clearing the course in 18:44 and Crest freshman Dagon Denny represented the area’s only other sub-20-minute finish in 19:11 for 13th place.
Yates Center freshman Elliot Ard took 26th in 20:45. Thomas Allee, MVHS sophomore, took 30th in 21:35.
