LE ROY — Ranked teams from two different classifications hit the court here Tuesday night. Three of the four quarters were just what fans wanted — close.
But Olpe High’s Eagle girls rocked their hosts, Southern Coffey County High’s Lady Titans in a 23-6 second-quarter run. The Eagles, ranked third in Class 2A, only had a one-point over the 10th-ranked Class 1A, Division I Lady Titans, 12-11.
That second-quarter surge powered the Eagle girls to a 64-44 victory. The Lady Titans regrouped and played a solid second half. It was enough.
