HESSTON — Allen Community College’s women found the right formula at the right time Wednesday.
The Red Devils were locked in a tight battle with Hesston, nursing a 47-45 lead after three quarters.
But Allen ended the game with a flourish as guard Sarang West drilled four three-pointers in the final quarter as ACC ended the contest with a 28-7 run to win, 75-52.
The win sets up a titanic grudge match on Saturday when ACC hosts rival Neosho County at 2 p.m.
Allen (17-4 overall and 5-2 in Jayhawk Conference play) is seeking a bit of redemption after surrendering a 16-point lead in a 91-84 loss.
Saturday’s game also will mark several key athletic teams and players from the Red Devils’ past in celebration of the college’s centennial.
Allen relied on its defense to extend its winning streak to four.
The Red Devils limited Hesston to 2 of 10 shooting in the fourth quarter.
West and Kassidy Warr shared high-scoring honors
with 18 points apiece. Noa Muranaka had 15 points and 10 assistss.
Khamille Warr had nine rebounds.
Norika Welch and Kelsey Koza each had 16 to lead Hesston.
