Marmaton Valley’s Louk takes seventh at Jayhawk-Linn High Invitational

MOUND CITY — Zach Louk of Marmaton Valley High captured the seventh-place medal at Thursday’s Jayhawk-Linn High Invitational cross country meet.
Louk ran the 5K race in 17 minutes, 45 seconds. Ryan Smith placed 13th in 18:14.
Marmaton Valley hadn’t received the official results from Jayhawk-Linn nor had the Register’s request been answered by this morning’s deadline. No report was in from Crest.
Carlos Gonzales ran the race in 19:56 for Marmaton Valley. Chance Stevenson had a time of 20:03 and Marcus Miller ran the race in 20:24. No official placings were known for the Wildcat runners.
Yates Center High’s Paul Stockebrand placed 17th in the boys’ varsity race. He ran the distance in 18:33.
Yates Center’s Sam Aguirre was 15th in the boys’ junior varsity race in 22:04. Seth Cuppy of Marmaton Valley ran the race in 23:18.
Marmaton Valley’s Ashtynn Louk claimed third in the girls’  junior varsity race in 19:41.
When official placings arrive the Register will publish them.
