Humboldt Speedway hosted the second round of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental Friday night, and Terry Phillips hoisted the winner’s check.

The 50-year-old from Springfield, Mo., was the beneficiary of a rough-and-tumble battle for the lead between Cade Dillard and Rodney Sanders midway through the race that saw Dillard retire with rear end damage and Sanders sent to the tail of the field.

Phillips inherited the top spot for the restart with 20 laps in the books, then went unchallenged the final 22 orbits to claim his second career USMTS triumph at Humboldt.
