HUMBOLDT — For the second straight year, Humboldt Speedway’s two signature events to open the upcoming racing season are being combined into a single, jam-packed weekend.

Speedway officials announced Sunday the upcoming Battle at the Bullring — featuring the top USRA B-Modified racers around — is being postponed to the weekend of March 23-26.

Why does that date sound familiar?

Because Humboldt Speedway already has set up its annual King of America extravaganza for that same weekend, featuring USMTS Modified racers from across the country.

The fun begins March 23 with practice sessions before racing gets hot and heavy the next three days, capped by Saturday’s races. The King of the Bullring feature has $10,000 awaiting the winner. Then, the Heart of America trophy winner will receive in excess of $15,000.

Those who already have purchased tickets for the Battle at the Bullring, but are unable to attend the March 24-26 races, are asked to send a refund request to Johna@foeenterprises.com.

The speedway pulled a similar double-dip race weekend in 2021, after stormy weather pushed back the Battle of the Bullring races from early March to coincide with the Heart of America races.
