KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Allen Community College’s men found their shooting touch after halftime Tuesday.
Already leading 31-23 at the break, the Red Devils shot a torrid 19 of 33 after intermission to roll to a 79-53 victory over Kansas City, Kan.
The win snaps a two-game losing skid and improves ACC’s record to 5-3 on the season.
Meanwhile, a short-handed ACC women’s squad lost to KCK, 81-46, to fall to 4-4.

THE RED Devil men were 1 of 8 from 3-point range in the first half before draining 7 of 14 treys in the second as part of a 48-point outburst.
As has been the case with their other four victories, the Red Devils rode a balanced scoring attack to the win.
Four Allen players wound up in double figures, led by Raheem Tyner’s 16 points and 15 rebounds. Tyrone Jones followed with 14, while Alex Miller scored 12 and Cody Sluder 10. Josh Sweet and Tray Fountain combined to hand out nine assists.
“This was a good team win for Allen after losing two tough games last weekend in Dodge City,” ACC head coach Andy Shaw said.

PLAYING without several key performers put ACC’s women women behind the eight-ball Tuesday in an 81-46 loss to unbeaten Kansas City, Kan.
The loss drops ACC to 4-4 on the season. Nicole Salazar led Allen with 17 points, while Rebecca Fisher followed with eight points and six rebounds.
Two players, Asia Shelton and Reagan McClellan, made their season debuts for the Red Devils. Allen was without the services of guard Erika Essman, who injured her knee over the weekend in a tournament in Chanute.
The Red Devils host the Tabor junior varsity Friday.
