The Allen Community College Red Devils did their best Lewis and Clark impression by traveling seven hours to face Northwest Technical College in Goodland on Wednesday.
The newly No.22 ranked Red Devils extended their winning streak to 11 by overtaking the Mavericks 88-59.
Cedric Rollerson and Trez Hankins opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers, but ACC quickly saw its lead evaporate. The Mavericks responded with a 7-0 run to take a one-point lead, which would be Northwests only lead of the game. ACC outscored Northwest 40-27 in the first half to head into the locker room sitting pretty at halftime.
ACC continued to flow cohesively in the second half, with all 12 players earning playing time as the Red Devils continued to pile on to its lead.
Malik Hardmon had another strong performance, finishing with 21 points and 8 rebounds.. Joel Boyce brought the juice of the bench, chipping in 18 points in his reserve role. Also in double digits for ACC was Trez Hankins with 14 points.
Allen County will have the privilege to watch one of the hottest college hoops team this Saturday at home. ACC will tip-off at 4 p.m. against Barton County, and will be eager to keep its perfect 7-0 start in the Jayhawk East alive.
