Allen County Community College’s Ryan Fike hit two two-run home runs against Labette Community College Tuesday.

PARSONS — Allen County Community College’s Red Devils fell back into a familiar pattern Tuesday. Win one. Lose one.
The Red Devils defeated host Labette Community College’s Cardinals 4-3 in the first game. They lost 14-5 in the nine-inning second game.
Allen County trailed 3-0 heading into the sixth inning of the first game. A two-run home run by Ryan Fike helped the Red Devils tie the game up.
With one out in the seventh, Michael Samuel, who was 3-for-3 in the game, doubled for ACCC. Brayden Brumley singled and Bretton Ater drove in the go-ahead run with a base hit.
Starter David Ormiston gave up a leadoff single to Labette in the bottom of the seventh. Ormiston was charged with three runs on five hits and one walk and had eight strikeouts.
Aaron Burke came on in relief and ACCC catcher Michael Schell threw out the Cardinal runner attempting to steal second. Burke got the next two batters to ground out to end the game.
Samuel had two singles and a double. Connor McCrite hit two singles and Schell had a single.
ACCC led 5-4 after batting in the sixth of the second game. The Cardinals scored two runs in the sixth and two in the seventh then had a six-run eighth to win.
Bryan Couch, Devin Hess, Cody Wren and Ben Pearson pitched for ACCC. They gae up 15 hits, including three home runs.
Fike hit another two-run home run for ACCC in the first inning. He also had two singles. McCrite doubled twice and Schell had two singles. Hitting a single each were Ater, Brad Alberts and Bryce Williams.
Allen County is 10-12 in Jayhawk East play and 16-16 overall. The Red Devils hots Noesho County (11-11, 21-17) today. The first game is set for a 3 o’clock start.
