The Allen County men grabbed their third-straight win of the season on Saturday over Cloud County Community College.
The 93-82 win secured the second season sweep for the Red Devils. They are now 9-20 and 7-18 in Jayhawk conference play.
Cloud held a three-point lead early in the contest but Allen County stormed ahead and took the lead. The Red Devils wouldn’t give it up for most of the night.
The T-Birds tied it briefly at 30 with a few minutes left to play in the half but Allen took the lead again and closed out the half on a 6-0 run to lead 46-38.
Cloud came out strong and scored six-straight off of a couple of Red Devil turnovers but after regrouping, Allen County was able to settle down and solidify their lead.
The Red Devils lived at the free throw line thanks to Cloud’s aggressive press, shooting 41 free throws in the game and making 31 of them.
Sophomore Tyler Williams continued to shine Saturday night, scoring a team-high 32 points. He was 4-7 from three and 10-12 from the stripe.
Freshman Jamaal Clifton had 18 points and six rebounds and freshman Perry Carroll had 18 points and four assists.
Just before the Red Devils’ win, the Allen County women fell 83-51. The loss is their ninth-straight and moves them to 6-23 overall and 4-21 in league play.
Freshman Jakira Wilson had 17 points and freshman Destiny Pittman had 12 points off of the bench.
The Allen County men and women return home tonight for their final game of the season versus Pratt.
