Allen Community College coach Andy Shaw is going to have to find someone new to draw up the game-opening alley oops next season with the staple of that play taking his leaping ability to Kansas Wesleyan University next season.
Forward Ithello Cross committed to the coach Anthony Monson’s squad on Tuesday afternoon and Monson is certainly thrilled to added a player with Cross’s skill set to his roster.
“I think he has a high ceiling and he has so much ability that he can still get better,” Monson said. “A guy that is as athletic as he is and can jump out of the gym like he can will make some noise in our league.
“The can be a force in the lane and with his character and after talking to him in the recruiting process, it was an easy decision for us.”
Cross is excited to join the second-year coach in the rebuilding process at Kansas Wesleyan.
“I felt a positive vibe over there,” Cross said. “It felt welcoming and family-oriented and that is something I wanted to be apart of.”
Cross is very grateful for the opportunity that Allen and Shaw gave him.
“Coach Shaw and his coaching staff were always there for me and encouraging me,” Cross said. “They always worked to make me better and I really appreciate that.”
