The Senior Mens Golf League at Iola’s Cedarbrook Golf Course has had two events in the past week.
Last Friday, the team of Lonnie Bratcher, Bill Strange, Red VanHooton, Dwayne VanDresar and Jim Skaggs won on the first nine holes played. They had a score of 32 in scramble format.
In a best-ball format for the second nine, the team of Andy Evans, Loren Bartlett, Ron Stoops and Glen Terrell shot a 31.
Taking honors in the following were: longest putt-first nine-Bratcher, second nine-George Levans; closest to the pin-first nine-Jerry Swanson, second nine-Bill Campbell; longest drive-first nine-Campbell, second nine-Strange.
On Tuesday, in a four-person scramble the first nine-holes went to the team of Bill Strange, Bill Campbell, Jim Skaggs and Gene Cochran with a 31.
There was a tie on the second nine holes, both teams carding a 34.
Those teams were: Lonnie Morehouse, DeWayne Vance, Dwayne VanDresar and Russ Davidson; Andy Evans, L.R. Parker and Glen Terrell.
The longest drive was by Campbell; longest putt was by Strange; and closest to the pin by Terrell.
