Twenty-one young baseball enthusiasts learned the finer mechanics of pitching Saturday and Sunday during a clinic provided by Demetrius Mitchell, a standout pitcher-turned-coach at the college level, most recently at Alabama A&M.

Tryouts for SEK Impact, a youth baseball program for players on 10-and-under, 9-and-under, 8-and-under and 7-and-under teams are at 6 p.m. today at Diamond No. 2 at Iola’s Riverside Park.

The teams will be helmed by coaches at Allen Community College.
