Titans split in Waverly

WAVERLY — The Southern Coffey County girls’ basketball team fell victim to a terrible third quarter and lost to Waverly 47-30 on Friday night in Waverly.
After leading 9-7 at the end of the first quarter, the Titans went into the halftime locker room trailing 15-13.
The third quarter broke the game wide-open as Waverly out-scored the Titans with a 24-4 surge and took a 39-17 lead.
Southern Coffey  County tried to rally in the fourth quarter by out-scoring Waverly 13-8, but it wasn’t enough as Waverly picked up the win and the Titans record dropped to 3-3.
Titan junior Danielle Kasprzak led the team with nine points.

The Southern Coffey County boys beat Waverly 49-43.

The Titans will travel to Burlingame today. Games will tip-off beginning at 4:45 p.m.
