Uniontown golfers hold meet

FORT SCOTT — Uniontown High’s Eagles won the Uniontown JV Invitational golf tournament last Thursday. The Eagle girls had a team score of 250.
Girard took second with 257 and Caney Valley was third at 261. Yates Center posted  288 for seventh place.
The Eagles were led by Veronica Harrison with a 59 for the second-place medal. Caney Valley’s Kayla Clapp won the tournament with a 54.
Sabrenda McAnulty of Uniontown and two others shot a 60 but McAnulty ended up fifth. The next six golfers carded 62s for the nine-hole event.
Uniontown’s Emily Simpson finished 10th with a 62. Raven Hixon shot a 69 and Danika Herring had an 86.
Yates Center’s Margie Hartwig and Emily Baker each shot 62s, finishing ninth and 11th, respectively.
Also for Yates Center, Makinna Furst had an 81, Becky Wendland had an 83 and Sami Hatch shot a 93.
