Wildcats get sweep over Pleasanton

After coming up short in their final games of the Wilson County Classic on Saturday, the Yates Center boys and girls basketball teams rebounded  at Pleasanton and showed no mercy with the girls winning 58-39 and the boys getting a 67-36.

Both teams had stellar performances that led to their big wins. 

Sophomore Maddie Collins led the way for the Lady Cats scoring 26 points including hitting four threes and going 6-6 from the free throw line while junior Aaron King scored 28 points despite not playing in the entire fourth quarter and scoring only two points in the second quarter. 

In addition to Collins, Jaylee Catron had eight points, Katelynn Jones had seven, Taylor Jacobs had six, Jordan Weseloh had five, Melanie Hegwald had three, Allie Pringle had two and Maria Jimenez had a point. 

For the boys, Hadley Splechter and Josh King each had eight points, Kobe Forsyth and Braydon Gaulding, Reece Solander had three and Tytan Smoot, Colin Bedell and Asher Sievers each had two points. 

The Wildcats will travel to play fellow Wildcats, Marmaton Valley, on Friday.
