YATES CENTER — Yates Center High’s football team made it 4-for-4 to start the 2021 football season.
Four games.
Four wins.
The Wildcats had little trouble dispatching visiting Oswego, 56-6, to also make it the fourth straight time Yates Center has eclipsed 50 points on the scoreboard.
The Wildcats are 4-0 for the first time since their 1969 team won its first seven games of the year.
More importantly, the victory puts the Wildcats at 1-0 in district play, with another district clash coming next Friday at home against winless Cedar Vale-Dexter.
The road promises to get significantly tougher. Yates Center ends the regular season against Sedan, Marmaton Valley and West Elk, three schools with a combined 10-2 record.
