Yates Center VB goes 1-3 at Uniontown Tournament

The Yates Center volleyball team went 1-3 on Saturday at the Uniontown tournament beating Galena and falling to Marmaton Valley, Riverton and the Lady Eagles.
The Wildcats started off with a 0-2 loss to Marmaton Valley (18-25, 23-25).
Maria Jimenez and Carli Masiarczyk each led the way with three aces while Taylor Jacobs and Stephanie Righini each had a team-high four kills. Jacobs also had the Lady Wildcats only block.
Cassie Ballin had 10 digs.
Yates Center then beat Galena 2-0 in their only win of the evening.
Jacobs led the way with four kills while Jimenez, Righini and Madelynn Collins had three each.
Masiarczyk had two aces while Jacobs had two blocks. Righini led the way with 10 digs.
The Wildcats then fell 0-2 to Riverton (21-25, 9-25).
Julia Day, Jimenez and Collins each had an ace while Jacobs and Jimenez each led the way with three kills.
Jacobs had the Wildcats’ only block and Collins had 10 digs.
Lastly, Yates Center fell in a close 2-1 match to Uniontown (25-27, 25-17, 23-25).
Jacobs exploded for a double-double, recording 15 assists, 13 kills, nine digs (one away from a triple-double), four aces and three blocks.
Masiarczyk had eight  kills while three other Wildcats had three.
Day had three aces and Jimenez had a team high 20 digs while Collins had 11 digs.
The Wildcats will head to Neodesha next Tuesday for their final match of the regular season.
