“Bob Talkington is the right man in the right spot in the Legislature this year. Whatever differences we have we can work them out for the good of Kansas,” Gov. John Carlin said here last night at the Lions Club Man of the Year banquet honoring Talkington, who is president of the Kansas Senate. More than 100 attended to honor him along with the governor. At the head table with Sen. Talkington were Mrs. Talkington, Sen. Mike Johnston of Parsons, Senate Minority Leader, Rep. Denise Apt of Iola, Mayor John Carder, the Rev. Dan Snowberger, club president, and Walter Davis, District Lions Governor from Wellsville.
