Grace Kathryn Snethen and Todd James Crosley were married Saturday, March 14, at The Life Mission Church in Ottawa, Kansas.
Parents of the bride are Scott Alan and Beth Ann Snethen of Ottawa. Parents of the groom are Daryl and Tracy Morris Crosley of Pomona.
The couple’s grandparents and great-grandparents in attendance at the ceremony were the honored guests at the wedding. The bride’s grandparents are Charles and Michelle Percy Johnson, and Ron and Carolyn Griffin Snethen. The groom’s grandparents are Larry and Charlotte Crosley and Dennis and Luella Morris.
Grace is the great-granddaughter of Jeanne Ann Masterson Percy and the late William Glenn “Curly” Percy; the late Richard and Lois Spring Griffin; Larry Dean and Cora Jean Horne Hensiek; and Charles M. Johnson.
Todd is the great-grandson of Wyon and Betty Smith.
The ceremony altar was banked with large floral arrangements of colorful spring flowers and cascading greenery that matched the flowers in the bridal party’s bouquets.
The officiant was Pastor Gregg Hall.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless white satin princess-style gown featuring a draped sweetheart neckline and a boned bodice with a basque waist. The corset-style back was laced with ribbon. The full, circular skirt fell into a cathedral length train that was bustled for dancing. Her cathedral length veil was made of imported French illusion and was edged in point d’Alencon lace. She wore diamond drop earrings and pinned her great-grandmother Jeanne Percy’s brooches into the inside layers of her gown for her “something old.”
The bride’s bouquet of spring flowers held peach and pink roses, baby’s breath, miniature white mums, pink, blue, and white Spanish bluebells, Queen Anne’s lace, and greenery.
The bridesmaids wore different styles of full-length gowns in slate blue. The junior bridal attendants wore floor-length one-shoulder gowns of pink floral chiffon. The bridal attendants carried clutch bouquets with the same flowers as the bride’s.
The bride was attended by her brother, Griffin William Snethen and by her bridesmaids, sister-in-law Joy Crosley Ayres, Ashlyn Powell, Alexis Calcott and Kaley Jefferies. The junior bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin, Lydia Jo Schmidt and Emmerson Ayres, niece of the groom. Marleigh Ayres, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.
The best man’s position was held in honor of the memory of Todd’s late brother, Darick Crosley. Groomsmen were Joel Brown, Trevor Kaub, Austin Curtis, Dylon Harris, and Jock Roecker. The junior groomsman was Grant Matthew Schmidt, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony at the church, the reception, buffet dinner and dance took place at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. The foyer entrance to the reception featured a family wedding table honoring the couple’s parents, grandparents and great-grandparents with a display of their framed wedding pictures. There was also a display of photographs honoring the loved ones of the couple who are no longer with us.
The wedding cake was made by Paula Bacon, longtime friend of the family, and the cake topper was the one used on the wedding cake of the bride’s parents. The reception tables were covered in white linens with table runners and held tall glass vases of baby’s breath flowers with floating tea candles and kissing bells. Instead of throwing her bridal bouquet, the bride presented it to her mother as a thank you gift. The bride and groom left the reception dance, exiting under an arch of belled and ribboned glass light sticks held by friends and family.
All of the floral arrangements, photo backdrops, and table decorations for the wedding and reception were made by the bride, her mother Beth, and her grandmother, Michelle. The stylist for the wedding was the bride’s aunt, Maggie Stevens Schmidt.
The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner.
