Pastor Steve Traw drew from Romans 12:9-2 for his message “Revenge or forgiveness,” on Sunday.
God alone is the avenger.
Romans 12:17 says, “Repay no one evil for evil.” Instead, ask the heavenly father when you need help or feel aggrieved. We are not expected handle things alone.
It’s difficult to not act on the emotion of revenge, but that is God’s role. Turning the other cheek is not always easy for us, but let God be in control.
Revenge is a desire to let others feel how we have felt. Vengeance is the cause of so many problems in our world. God forgives us for these feelings.
Romans 12:19 says, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
The first song on Sunday’s service was “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.” Special music was presented by Richard and Cheryl Klingensmith, accompanied by Myrna Wildschuetz on the piano.
Food donations are continuing to be collected for the local food pantry.
