Pastor Steve Traw is doing well and plans on being back Sunday. This week, guest speaker Flint Allen preached on the importance of light. Using Luke 14: 34-35 as a background for his message, Flint began with a brief lesson on the speed of light.
In Genesis God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. “God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.”
The word “light” is used 272 times in the Bible. Darkness comes from an absence of light — without a light source from God, Satan and sin creeps in. Make God your light source and he will be close to you.
The chicken dinner was a great success. Humboldt’s Biblesta parade and festivities are coming up on Oct. 4. Lloyd Houk sings at 10 a.m., with the parade at 1:30 p.m. and bean feed at 5 p.m.
