Guest speaker Steve Green spoke on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 at Colony Christian Church.
Jesus blesses those who are poor in spirit and humbly admit they are completely dependent on God.
Those who regret their sins and who love their enemies are also blessed, as well as those who hunger for righteousness and those who are persecuted.
Brant McGhee’s communion meditation was titled “Pursuit of Happiness.” Studies show that generously and voluntarily giving to others produces happiness. It was a great joy to Jesus to be able to give His life on the cross for us and to fulfill the will of His Father.
Brinley McGhee led worship singing “Awesome God,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Come as You Are” and “I’ll Fly Away.”
A potluck dinner was held after the service.
