The Southwind Extension District has announced that Sandy Haggard will join their team as the new nutrition, food safety and health extension agent.
In her role, Haggard will develop and deliver programs related to nutrition through the life cycle; nutrition of low-income audiences; food security; chronic disease prevention; and consumer and food handler safety.
Haggard will be based out of the Iola office location, but will serve Allen, Bourbon, Neosho and Woodson counties.
A welcome reception for Haggard is planned for Thursday, May 1, from 8 a.m. until noon, at the Southwind Extension District Iola office located at 1006 N. State St.
