Iola woman charged in attempted arson

An Iola woman has been charged with aggravated arson after prosecutors allege she twice attempted to set fire to a local property.

Iolan Kayla M. Perry faces a charge of aggravated arson, after prosecutors alleged she attempted to twice burn down an Iolan’s property.

The charges were filed April 14 in Allen County District Court by County Attorney Brandon Cameron.

Perry is accused of attempting to damage “by fire or explosives” a property at 844 North St. in Iola.

Perry is free on a $25,000 cash surety bond, and will appear in front of District Judge Daniel Creitz in a status hearing June 8.
