Arrest reported
Mitchell J. Lewis was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of domestic battery, assault and criminal threat after Allen County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic incident about two miles northeast of Iola.
Deer hit
On July 12, Chris Scheibmeir reported he struck a deer on Maryland Road five miles southwest of Iola.
He reported wearing his seatbelt and was not hurt.
Vehicle struck
Talitha Seelye was slowing for a vehicle that had slowed on U.S. 169 southeast of Humboldt July 12 due to heavy rain, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Mason Walker, deputies said.
Walker told deputies he failed to see the brake lights through the heavy rain.
Neither driver was injured. Their vehicles sustained minor damage, deputies said.
Items stolen
A pair of catalytic converter and a generator were reported stolen July 14 from a KwiKom property in Gas.
Damage reported
George Hawley told deputies July 15 that somebody damaged and attempted to break into a residence about one mile west of Elsmore.
Deputies said Hawley also reported a 3-foot deep hole had been dug in the yard.
