An Iola man is accused of raping a victim prosecutors said was under the influence of a psychedelic compound during the incident.
Allen County Attorney Brandon Cameron filed the rape charge April 14 against Paul Michael Porter, alleging Porter was involved in sexual intercourse with a victim who was incapable of giving consent because the victim was under the influence of psilocybin, also known as “magic mushrooms.”
The alleged incident occurred March 31, according to court documents.
An arrest warrant was served on Thursday.
Porter also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, three counts of endangering a child, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Porter is scheduled to appear in front of Magistrate Judge Chuck Apt. on Wednesday.
