’TIS THE SEASON TO SHOP

Classy Attic in downtown Iola can make any home look and smell better.
From candles to picture frames, coffees and teas to glass- and dinnerware, the spacious store is chock-full of creative gift ideas to make your Christmas shopping all the easier.
Sherry Hart has 30 years of retail experience. Since the store’s move in 2004 to 15 E. Madison on the south side of the square, drive-by business has been good, she said.
That said, Hart’s best clientele are her loyal customers who have come to depend on Classy Attic for always having the right gift, whatever the
occasion.
“Sometimes, we can help provide gifts for what is not seen as a gift-giving occasion, such as in times of bereavement,” she said. “Our Willow Tree angels, or our line of crosses, can perhaps send a more personal message than flowers.”
Yankee and WoodWick candles make especially good gifts, no matter the occasion. Also for sale are scent spheres and bowls that emit a constant aroma.
The store’s strength lies in home decor. Wreaths, bowls, holiday decorations, pictures, silk flowers and flower arrangements can all give a home that extra touch of warmth and beauty.
Classy Attic has special sections including those for pets, infants, condiments, fashion and wine.
Some fun items include hot chocolate mixes for KU and K-State fans. Once mixed with hot water, the drinks turn either blue or purple.
A line of wine glasses are decorated for milestone birthdays.
For Fido, there’s a whole selection of bandanas with cute sayings.
As for condiments, Hart carries cider, margarita, soup, and beer bread mixes as well as flavored teas and coffees.
Hand-knitted hats for children are a specialty as well as “toe blooms,” stretchy bands with bows for infants’ feet and ankles.
For women, Classy Attic carries scarves and purses, lotions and bath products.

The store will have expanded hours during the holiday shopping season and also offers free gift wrapping.
