Decorator Supply offers a wide variety of carpet, ceramic tiles, vinyl and laminate floor coverings, window treatments and custom mixed paint to give homes a little extra sparkle and shine during the holiday season.
“I tell people the easiest way to give their home a fresh and inexpensive new look is with a change of paint color and carpet,” said Angie Wray, store manager.
Decorator Supply has been a fixture on the Iola square for 40 years, the last 38 at 102 N. Washington. Owners are Wayne and Norma Jackson.
Wray encourages customers to take tile, carpet and paint samples home before making final decisions. The lighting in the store is much brighter than most homes, and “I don’t want people to purchase a paint color and be disappointed when the color looks entirely different on their walls at home,” she said.
Wray can match most any color sample brought into the store. Colors can also be coordinated with flooring, backsplashes and window treatments. Dark red, greens, gold and rust are the most popular colors for today’s homes.
“I believe earth tones will be the choice of decorators for years to come,” Wray said.
Decorator Supply also has one of the biggest selections of ceramic tiles in southeast Kansas, enabling the store to be price competitive with stores in larger cities.
Wooden blinds and plantation shutters have become popular for windows, compared to drapes in years past.
Special orders are no problem, Wray said.
“We have delivery trucks that come each week and employees to install floor and window treatments.”
Store hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Wray may be reached at 365-5211.
