Iola High School’s class of 1958 celebrated its 60-year reunion the weekend of May 25-26. A picnic kicked off the festivities at the Concreto home of Carol and “Chef” Jim Immel on May 25. Allen County Country Club was the setting May 26 for a steak dinner catered by Elaine Stewart, Iola.

Lou Hermann gave the prayer and Mel Guenther read a humorous reading of “What the classmates of 1958 would be doing in 1968.” An “old-time memories” video made by Bob Hawk was shown which included pictures of classmates who are deceased. Linda (Higginbotham) Guenther presented the business meeting including upcoming events and special mention to those who assisted her with putting the celebration and Mustang decorations together.

The classmates applauded all who put the events together and those who brought side dishes of food to the picnic.
