Janet Irene Pulley, 68, Humboldt, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at her home.  Janet was born on Nov. 26, 1948, in Chanute, the daughter of William Mathew and Mary Lee Constance (Cheney) Clounch.
On June 21, 1969, Janet married Odell Pulley in Humboldt. Odell survives her.
Janet was a homemaker for many years while raising her children. Later, she was a cook at Allen County Community College and Arkhaven Nursing Center in Iola for several years. Janet was a loving mom, grandma and aunt. She was very generous and loved by all who knew her, even being called “Mom” by her children’s friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and grandcat, Miss Kitty. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed completing word searches and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Humboldt where she sang in the choir and worked with the church mission, even serving as mission president for a period of time.
Janet also is survived by her children, Cornell (Heather) Pulley, Kansas City, Mo., and Mary Pulley, Humboldt; a sister, Juanita (George) Bell,  Chesterfield, Va.; brothers, Timothy (Karen) Clounch, Humboldt, Cheney Clounch, Longmont, Colo., and Richard Clounch, Los Angeles; a grandchild, Travail Pulley, Kansas City, Mo., numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; her adopted, daughter, Andria Dillingham, and grandcat, Miss Kitty.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Countryside Funeral Home-Humboldt Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Poplar Grove Baptist Church immediately followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
