Lady Cub volleyball splits on Senior Night

Humboldt volleyball hosted Eureka and Cherryvale on Tuesday falling 0-2 to Eureka before beating Cherryvale 2-0 on Senior Night.
In addition to Senior Night, it was also a “Pink-Out.” The team wore pink and raffles were held to help raise breast cancer awareness.
The Lady Cubs started off with the Tornadoes, falling 25-16 in set one and 25-21 in set two.
Kaylie Johnson and Lizzie Myers led the way with four kills each and Aricah McCall put down three aces and two kills.
Sydney Houk had the team’s only block and Rylan Wilhite had 10 assists and seven digs.
Humboldt then responded versus Cherryvale, winning in set one 25-14 and set two 25-18.
Houk had a team-high four kills and a block to go along with three kills each from Johnson and Myers.
Madi Gean had a team-high eight aces with Aricah McCall and Alayna Johnson who had three and two kills each.
Humboldt JV also split on the night, falling to Eureka 0-2 (24-26, 21-25) and beating Cherryvale 2-1 (29-27, 19-25, 15-9).
Versus Eureka, Camrie Farran had a team-high five aces and two kills. Maycie DeNoon and Isabelle Murrow each had three aces.
Then versus Cherryvale, Emma Johnson had a team-high seven aces and 10 digs while Savanna Puckett had four kills.
Finally, the Humboldt C-Team fell 0-2 (14-25, 13-25) to Eureka.
The Lady Cubs will compete at the Neodesha Tournament on Saturday.
