After years of operating out of a small single-room office tucked into the back of the Recovery House at 16 N. Buckeye St. in Iola, the non-profit has relocated to 919 N. State St. Keithly noted that the plans are to finish the relocation in one day.

In addition to the move, A.R.T. will be expanding its services after being awarded the federally funded 5310 transportation program — a federal program designed specifically to support transportation services for elderly residents and persons with disabilities.

The grant award includes both a vehicle and approximately $10,000 in operating funds.

The organization is working to ensure seniors can continue receiving rides at no cost through additional grant assistance.
